Northwest African American Museum is a Seattle institution committed to the African American experience in the Northwest. The museum tells the “story of their journey to this region, the establishment of a vibrant community and the ways in which they have thrived.” The Museum’s exhibits and programs feature the visual arts, music, crafts, literature and history of African Americans in the Northwest. Cognizant of the Black community’s continuous evolution, NAAM focuses on African Americans whose route to the new world was through slavery as well as recent immigrants arriving from places such as Somalia, Sudan and Ethiopia.
During his time at Shunpike, principal Andy Fife helped with board finance by facilitating and training board members in an emerging finance committee on board accountability and finance committee best practices.
New Century Theatre Company is an professional ensemble producing company in Seattle, currently in the process of opening a space at the new 12th Avenue Arts development on Capitol Hill.

Their mission is to provide dynamic opportunities to established and emerging professional artists in an environment that encourages creative expression, experimentation and collaboration. As a nonprofit organization, the gallery fosters artistic and professional connections between its associated artists and the arts community at large through creative dialogue, the presentation of challenging and enriching curated exhibitions, public opportunities and collaborative projects.
